Regent Global celebrates Sri Lankan excellence at the BRISLA Awards 2025

On Friday 10 October, Regent Global was proud to sponsor the British Sri Lankan Association’s (BRISLA) 2025 Awards Ceremony – an inspiring evening honouring exceptional achievements within the British Sri Lankan community.

Representing Regent Global, Chairman Steve Phillips delivered a keynote address on this year’s theme, “Global unity in diversity”, exploring how shared values and collaboration can strengthen international ties.
Held at London’s prestigious Royal Over-Seas League, a venue synonymous with Commonwealth friendship, the event blended heartfelt tributes, captivating performances and distinguished guests to create an unforgettable celebration of cultural and professional excellence.
Honouring leadership and achievement
The BRISLA Awards recognised outstanding contributions across Leadership, Healthcare, Sports, Wildlife and more – spotlighting individuals whose vision and dedication have enriched both British and Sri Lankan society.
Among the distinguished attendees were H.E. Nimal Senadheera, Sri Lankan High Commissioner to the UK, and The Rt. Hon. Lord Justice Dingemans, Senior President of Tribunals. Both reflected on their personal connections to both nations, sharing moments of humour, reflection and optimism for the future of UK-Sri Lanka relations. Guests were also treated to a mesmerising performance by the Kandyan Dancers, celebrating Sri Lanka’s rich artistic heritage.
A message of connection and collaboration
Dr Zimar Sivardeen, BRISLA Chair, emphasised the vital role minority communities play in shaping modern Britain – highlighting the contributions of British Sri Lankans across business, healthcare, culture and public service.
Now in its 11th year, BRISLA continues to champion its guiding principle of “Global unity in diversity”, celebrating leaders who bring vision, integrity and progress to their fields.
Reflecting on the occasion, Steve Phillips said:
“Representing Regent Global at the BRISLA Awards 2025 was an honour. It was a wonderful evening celebrating the connection, collaboration and shared heritage between the UK and Sri Lanka.”
Since its founding, BRISLA has been a driving force for social cohesion, sustainable development and cross-community collaboration. Its mission remains clear – to build a society where every community has the opportunity to shape a better future for all.
Congratulations to all the winners and everyone involved in organising such a remarkable event.
