From ideas to impact: The NextGen Team at the One Young World Summit 2025
In November 2025, the Regent Global NextGen Team attended the One Young World Summit in Munich – joining thousands of young leaders from across the world who are committed to creating positive, practical change.
Representing Regent Global, the team spent the week engaging in thoughtful discussions, challenging perspectives and building global connections. The experience offered not only inspiration, but clear direction on how young leaders can contribute meaningfully to the future of education, technology and sustainable growth.
One Young World: A global platform for young leadership
One Young World brings together young leaders from over 190 countries each year to address the most pressing challenges facing society. The Summit is designed to be both reflective and action-focused, combining keynote speeches, panel discussions and interactive workshops.
At the heart of the Summit are the Plenary Challenges, which cover areas such as education, the circular economy, peace and security, and responsible technology. These central themes create space for delegates to share experiences, learn from one another and develop ideas that can be translated into impact within their own organisations and communities.
Personal highlights from the NextGen Team

My highlight of the Summit was attending my workshop, “Education reimagined: AI for growth, equity and impact.” Sitting alongside educators, technologists and changemakers, we explored how artificial intelligence is already reshaping education.
We discussed its potential to personalise learning, widen access and support teachers, while also addressing important risks such as data privacy, algorithmic bias and the possibility of deepening inequalities if innovation moves faster than inclusion. The conversation reinforced a core belief for me: progress in education must always be inclusive, responsible and guided by purpose.

During my time in Munich, I had the opportunity to experience the city’s culture and witness the passion of young leaders committed to creating meaningful change in the world. A key highlight of my experience was attending the workshop, “For Those Who Defend and Protect: Designing a Values-Driven Social Media Campaign.”
The workshop allowed me to collaborate and connect with individuals beyond the higher education and marketing sectors. Working as part of a team, we were tasked with developing a compelling campaign for Airbus, an organisation that continues to evolve and innovate to protect our airspace. I was fortunate to present my team’s pitch to the wider group, which proved to be a rewarding experience that pushed me outside my comfort zone and strengthened my leadership skills.

Throughout my time at the Summit I gained new perspectives from people around the world. I listened to inspiring keynote speeches from global leaders and role models, including Rio Ferdinand, whose journey and message about resilience and leadership motivated me to challenge my own role in driving positive change. Engaging in discussions with individuals from diverse backgrounds helped me broaden my understanding of global issues and appreciate the value of peace, unity and collaboration through shared ideas.
One moment that stood out was being interviewed by the national Japanese news station “Fuji Television Network, Inc”, this unexpected opportunity strengthened my confidence in international communication. I also took part in a sustainability-focused workshop, collaborating to develop and present an idea addressing environmental and social challenges. Overall, the Summit was an inspiring experience that encouraged growth, widened my scope of understanding, and sharpened my commitment to making a positive impact in the future.
Key takeaways from the Summit
Throughout the week, several key themes consistently emerged. But it was collaboration that stood out as an essential tool for effective leadership, with many speakers emphasising that lasting impact is built through shared ambition rather than individual effort. There was also a strong focus on responsibility – particularly the need to ensure that innovation in education and technology is ethical, inclusive and aligned with real-world needs.
For the NextGen Team, these insights reinforced the importance of combining innovation with purpose, and global thinking with practical application.
Turning insight into action: What comes next
Returning to Regent Global as One Young World Ambassadors, the NextGen Team is focused on transforming ideas into action. Our next steps include embedding responsible innovation into our work, strengthening our commitment to equity across the education sector and continuing to build on the global relationships formed in Munich.
The One Young World Summit was an important milestone for the team. More importantly, it has strengthened our shared commitment to contributing thoughtfully, responsibly and collaboratively to the future of education.
