In a remarkable evening that celebrated entrepreneurial spirit and community contributions, Regent Group CEO Dr. Selva Pankaj was bestowed with the prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the Asian Business Awards. This accolade is a shining testament to our relentless pursuit of innovation in the education sector, and the extraordinary efforts of our team, supporters, and the vibrant community that surrounds us.

The ceremony, graced by notable figures including Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London, and Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden, recognised the significant impact of the Asian community in the UK. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, in his video message, underscored the community's vital role in the nation's fabric, amplifying the significance of our achievement.

This award comes at a pivotal moment in our history. Under the visionary leadership of Selva and his wife Tharshiny, Regent Group has embarked on a transformative journey. From humble beginnings in 2000, where Selva, a determined refugee from the civil war in Sri Lanka, founded Regent Independent College, we have blossomed into a global organisation with a presence in London, New York, Dubai, and India.

Selva's remarkable story of resilience and determination, chronicled in his book Thinking into Character, continues to be the bedrock of our philosophy. His insight into unleashing human natural intelligence and integrating technology in education is propelling us towards our goal of becoming a leading global technology-enabled education provider.

Our reach extends from kindergarten to higher education and beyond, with innovative offerings such as online micro-credentials and transformational programmes. The group's diverse ventures include Regent Investment Management London and the upcoming Regent European University. Our impact is global, with 10,000 students learning through our institutions and partnerships worldwide.

Selva's accolades, including the Entrepreneur of the Year at the British Sri Lankan Awards 2023 and inclusion in the Times Top 100 list as one of the fastest-growing education companies in the UK, speak volumes of our commitment to excellence. His recent appointment as Chair of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Sustainability 70 Steering Group reiterates our commitment to societal progress and non-formal education.

As we celebrate this achievement, we look to the future with optimism and determination. By 2030, our goal is to establish a state-of-the-art British university and become a unicorn company, leveraging the metaverse and Web 3.0. This award is not just a recognition of our past successes but a beacon guiding us towards an even brighter future.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our special guests, the award committee, and every member of the Regent Group family. Your belief in our vision and your contributions have been instrumental in our journey. Here's to reaching new heights and achieving more milestones together!
